Throughout her professional art career, Linda Budge has chosen to
paint animals. Since moving to Arizona from Colorado, Linda has added
Gabel quail, the desert rabbit, burro, and the wily coyote to her vast
array of dogs and cats.
“Expression and gesture are qualities I aim for. I try to work as
much from life as possible. I enjoy plein air painting, and try to
schedule a good part of my time on the desert. Painting from life has
given me a solid background in doing accurate drawings and knowing how
light affects the color, value and edges.”
Linda has been in numerous exhibitions including the 2004 special
exhibit at the American Kennel Club Museum. Her dog portraits have
been featured in the American Kennel Club Gazette, Canine
Collectibles, Business Views and Colorado Ducks Unlimited.
Linda is a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists, the
Worldwide Nature Artists Group and the Sonoran Art League. Her
biography is listed in the book, “A Breed Apart” by William Secord,
featuring her dog art.
