| Patricia A Griffin spent her childhood roaming the woods around her rural Pennsylvania home, and thus was born the naturalist whose art is fueled by observation, meditation, and imagination. She travels incessantly, seeking inspiration from a variety of sources. Her most recent work explores wildlife art. The portraits are Griffin's commentary on the place of the animal in our increasingly urbanized society. They are graphic, dynamic compositions featuring strong brushwork and brilliant, saturated color. |

Griffin has recently returned to art full-time after a ten-year hiatus, and her work reflects an intensity and awakening that convey a more decisive feel. "I dropped all stigmas and preconceived notions of subject matter," explains Griffin. "I no longer question the desire to paint something—I just simply dive in, knowing it is only a lesson." This is how Griffin came to choose animals, which she considers her kindred spirits. "The animals are a meditation, an enlightenment, and while painting I can feel the interaction of our souls. This body of work allows me to share with the viewer my connectivity with the animal kingdom." Griffin's portraits are simplified to preserve the freshness of the experience, and to allow the viewer to interpret the experience as his or her own.
