Less than 10 years ago, the successful businessman realized that his wood sculpting hobby had become a fascinating obsession, a driving force he could no longer relegate to his spare time. At age 56, William Churchill left his position as vice president of a construction company to focus on his art. He has never been happier.
An extraordinary wood carver, Bill's sculptures in wood range from realistic saddles that have an incredible look of leather to firearms and wildlife. He uses a variety of woods to capture the look and texture he wants for the image. Bill protects his wood sculptures with liquid wax that preserves the wood and eliminates cracking.
